Q: What do I need to get connected?

A: A Telkom Line (Month billed), ADSL router, Micro Filter and a ADSL complete package. Please refer to our ADSL starters guide for more info.



Q: What do I do with my ADSL username and password?

A: Your ADSL login details are used to login to your DSL console as well as setting up your ADSL connection through your router. Please see our ADSL Router setup articles for assistance with setting up your router. If you don't have a router yet, you can order one here.

 


 

Q: How do I add more bandwidth?

A: Browse to your DSL Console (http://dsl.webafrica.co.za) and select Top Ups. Did you know you can browse to your DSL console and Top Up even when you capped! Find out more about Top Ups here.

Q: Where do I check my ADSL bandwidth usage? 
A: You can check your DSL bandwidth usage using the DSL console

Q: Do I need a Telkom line and an ADSL line?

A: Yes, these are two separate services. Your Telkom monthly billed phone line will need to be ordered through Telkom and is used for making normal phone calls. If you require ADSL on your Telkom line it's an additional service you will have to order. The ADSL portion of your line can be ordered through Web Africa and come as part of our ADSL Complete packages.



Q: How do I see my line speed?

A: You can run a test at www.speedtest.net


Do I need a Telkom line and an ADSL line?

If you require ADSL on your Telkom line it's an additional service you will have to order. Q: What is DSL Secure? 
A: DSL secure is a free security feature which allows you to lock your ADSL package to your phone number. You can enable DSL secure on up to four lines per account. You can find out more about DSL secure here.


 

Q: Does my ADSL package come with email accounts?
A: We provide you with 5 email accounts on our ADSL home packages and 10 with our business ADSL packages. You can find a guide on setting up your email accounts here.


 

Q: Does Web Africa provide usage notifications and is it a free service? 
A: Yes, Web Africa provides usage notifications via SMS and email. It's included free as part of our DSL service and is managed through your DSL console.


 

Q: What is FreeZone?

A: When our customers connect to a FreeZone server, the bandwidth utilised will be free! Find out more here


 

Q: How do I upgrade or downgrade my ADSL package?

A: You can upgrade your ADSL package through your DSL Console. To have your package downgraded, send an email from an authorised contact to support@webafrica.co.za with your request.

Q: Can I use my account in more than one place at the same time?

A: Our home ADSL products allow for 1 concurrent connection. If you order the PRO add-on your concurrent connections will be increased to 2.


 

Q: Is my account wireless

A: Your ADSL account can be used with a wireless router; you can order a wireless router through our website.
